About Pukllay

Behavioral and experimental economics within reach across Latin America.

Pukllay is an easy-to-access learning platform focused on behavioral and experimental economics for teachers and students of economics and the social sciences across Latin America. Our goal is to democratize access to technologies that support learning about these topics throughout Latin America.

PUKLLAY

The project

Pukllay is a joint project by LACEA BRAIN and Tecnológico de Monterrey, through BEER Lab. Its purpose is to democratize access to learning opportunities in behavioral and experimental economics, enabling rigorous teaching and learning at any university in Latin America.

The platform brings together games and materials to make classroom experimentation simple and approachable, without requiring each university to develop its own experimental platform.

Pukllay means “to play” in Quechua. The name reflects our approach: making a decision, observing its consequences and learning from the experience.

Learning through experience

Our approach to learning

Each activity connects a participant’s decision with an economic mechanism and a guided discussion. The teacher helps the group interpret the results, examine explanations and return to the concepts discussed in the course.

Three languages
The interface, instructions and teaching guides are available in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
Two ways to enter
Students can choose the game and enter an activity code in the laboratory, or use the link or QR shared by their teacher. Both routes lead to the same activity.
